D_082 Interfaz - a Global Digital Interface forĘGuadalajara, Mexico
Chris Sharples . The overall presentation was pretty solid. The sectioning site was very good. One is able to get a good sense of the spatial modulation through the sectioning. It is not clear however how the designers made their decisions. The animation was well choreographed. It could run a bit faster. There isn't enough detail to run it at this speed.
Brian Johnson . Interface between nature and built form? virtual and physical? The project is unclear, and underdeveloped. The presentation, though, is clear and simply structured.
Mahesh Senagala . The project is critical enough. I enjoyed the sectional renderings. It was well presented. I think the reading of terrain/landscape as interface is thought-provoking.
Carmina Sanchez . This is reminiscent of P. Eisenman's design for Santiago de Compostela Visitor's Center. The design of the web site graphics makes good use of minimal elements. In terms of architectural design however it is not very original.
Hani Rashid . The Project is a decent synthesis between digital process and design, however the temptation to hide behind texture maps and maya cut through sections leaves something to be desired. The process component is very interesting and does yield some intriguing possibilities for program and structural components.
