As developments in simulated reality and internet technology blur the edges of the historical model of community (based primarily on geopolitical proximity), the individual’s connection to the global continuum becomes more direct. The growing influence of a resultant cyber-nomadism is establishing a new model of community in which one’s position remains in constant flux between a global and local layering of interconnections.
