information
wall
The Information Wall is an orientation device. It posts the reserve status of the group spaces; the availability of pods; the current "chat rooms" forming; instructions on how to rent a lap top; etc.
auditorium
The Auditorium is a fully networked facility with a large viewing screen having the same capabilities as the other networked screens. Because the whole area is reachable via infrared connection, the audience will be able to interactively communicate with the lecturer and the screen. When the viewing screen is not transmitting information, the audience can look beyond to the large curved network panel in the main reading room.
cafe
The Café borders the Auditorium and the main reading room and is reachable via infrared connection. This allows both active and passive interaction from the café area to the "network."
computer server
The main frame computers store all the individual user data and group data.
entry/lobby
The entry/lobby is a double height space that can either be the exterior entrance or a transition space between the old and new libraries.
